We felt it important that even as a church we would put our best foot forward in the digital age.
We wanted a site that our church community could manage without massive technical expertise, and with no obvious technical experience within the church we turned to Brendan of IRUN Ballymena for help.
Once he had helped us define what we wanted and what we needed we left him to get on with things.
Whilst left largely to his own devices, Brendan had correctly understood our needs and built the basic site, and filled it with the content from our previous site. Today it serves as a useful medium to reach our own congregation with weekly updates and also for new families to the area to find out more about us before coming in through the door. In this age, even though we’re a doctrinally reformed church, we’ve realised we needed a digital presence to reach a new generation.
We have found good use of the News section, Weekly Announcements and for weekly sermons ‘podcasts’.
The site tracks very well in the search engines for keywords relevant to our general outlook plus also has been crucial in bringing in families who found us because of simple things like the fact that every organisation has its own page of information.
With monthly assistance from IRUN we are improving the online visibility of our site for new visitors and its usefulness for existing members.
Without IRUN we’d still be stuck with a static website with no ability to alter or update the content and no feedback as to how we’re presenting ourselves in this digital age.
